Our Story
WELCOME TO G STREET FABRICS!
In 1942, David Greenzaid, father and grandfather of the current owners, started G Street Fabrics on G Street in northwest Washington, D.C. The store quickly became a landmark in the D.C. area and was a popular place for workers to spend lunch hours searching for career-wear fabrics and for diplomats and dignitaries to seek couture fabrics to replicate garments seen in Paris and New York. Over the years the flagship store grew and expanded and was moved to Rockville, Maryland in 1983.
In addition to selling quality apparel, quilting and home decorating fabrics, G Street Fabrics offers Bernina® and Brother® sewing machines as well as an extensive selection of notions, buttons and trims. The Home Decorating Department has an ever changing selection of the finest fabrics in the Washington DC area and offers numerous custom labor services such as Upholstery, Window Treatments, Slipcovers, Cushions, Bedding, Decorative Pillows and more. Along with unique merchandise G Street Fabrics is committed to providing superior customer service and maintains a reputation for friendly, professional and knowledgeable Sales Associates.
